Department of Defence – Materiel Logistics

The Department of Defence is Australia’s third largest agency, employing over 20,000 people. Nimic was approached by Synergy Group, a consulting company to Defence, to help develop, design and produce a video series that would help these smaller Defence departments to build awareness, pride and better appreciation of where their unique skills and duties help to make Defence what it is.

The first video of the series is for the Materiel Logistics department, a highly integral part of Defence’s operations locally and across the globe. By utilising real footage of Defence missions and training, overlaying animated information across the shots (accurate to what materiel logistics provide and oversee), strong, pride-filled music, realistic foley, ear-catching data and communication sound effects and a dynamic voiceover, we were able to achieve the project’s goal for both Synergy Group and the Department of Defence.
