Rotaract is a global organisation than empowers students and young professionals to create positive change in their local communities and around the world. Rotaract approached the Nimic team to create a promotional video for their 2017 Australian Rotaract Conference, to be shared through their website and facebook. Rotaract wanted the production to be more than just information packed into a video format, they wanted something that was unique and share-worthy. They came to the right place because creating share-worthy online multimedia is something Nimic loves to do.
The theme that was being put forward for the promotional video was LEGO (Leadership – Empowerment – Growth – Opportunity). With a limited timeframe, we knew we had to come up with something that was not only entertaining and different but achievable without any compromise on quality. The Nimic team brainstormed the idea of a stop-motion themed animation with miniature Lego characters and machines building and presenting the information to the viewer. Once the concept was approved, it was time to hit the tools.
Our amazing animation team got to work producing the project by creating animation models, images, and filming green screened shots of a hand and dropped Lego pieces. The animation team did a great job pulling all the visual elements together on a short timeframe. They do love a good challenge.
As the animated vision was now looking amazing, it was time for the audio team to do their thing. Nothing makes amazing animation look even better than a great sound design and the Nimic audio team delivered in abundance. With perfectly chosen and synchronised sound effects and a fun pumping music track to bring it all home, all that was left was a quick render and export and the 2017 Rotaract Australian Conference promotional video was completed.
